The winners from the groups of four will progress to the knockout stages, along with the top two teams from the group of five. The runner-up with the best record from the groups of four will also go into the knockout stages, making eight teams in total. In the event of a tie, play-off matches may be necessary.
The eliminated teams from the group stages will then be placed into the Barking & Dagenham Trophy. This should be sixteen schools altogether.
Group games must be played by March 12th. This is already a two week extension from the original deadline. Schools who don’t play in time WILL be eliminated!
The knockout rounds will be drawn once the qualifiers are known, with the finals being played by June 1st at the very latest.
There are obviously issues with light during the winter months. Therefore it is recommended that schools play at least one game before the clocks go back, with the remaining matches being played in the Spring. Alternatively, your Headteacher may be kind enough to let you play an early kick off.
START ARRANGING GAMES NOW.
Please phone in results as soon as possible after matches. Chris Wilding will be Competition Secretary and can be contacted at bdsfa@hotmail.co.uk. Results will be put on the website: www.bdsfa.bdcs.org.uk. A further copy of the full draw and rules is also available here.
Some schools don’t have a pitch or only have a small pitch or have a pitch but with small goals. Such pitches are ok as long as both teachers agree in advance of the match. If no pitch is available you might ask a school that has a pitch if you can use their facilities.
It would be helpful if you could send a brief report of your match to Barking and Dagenham Post Newspaper Sports Dept. The email address is dagenhampost.sport@archant.co.uk or you may fax the report to 0208 477 3801. This is the least we can do as this newspaper pays for the medals and cups. Copies can also be posted on the BDSFA website by emailing them to bdsfa@hotmail.co.uk
PLEASE SEND YOUR ENTRY FEE TO DAVE MOORE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (TOTAL £5). Cheques should be made payable to B.D.S.F.A REMEMBER Rush Green Junior School is not in the internal post system so please put a stamp on envelope and post!
Competition Rules and Contact Details are also enclosed.
Off you go. Any problems - get in touch.
