BARKING & DAGENHAM GIRLS’ District team maintained their unbeaten record for the second successive season although they had to fight and scrap during every minute of their most recent game against Bexley.

The home side took the lead in the eighth minute when Elicia Wells converted Kleisha Darroux's cross.

But two defensive errors brought the visitors back into the tie as they ruthlessly punished any lapses in concentration during a lacklustre spell for Barking & Dagenham.

But an outstanding individual performance by Libby Patten inspired her side to victory during a heartstopping finale that saw Darroux and Wells add late goals and Emma Lancaster produce a vital save to earn a very hard-fought win.
