BARKING & DAGENHAM'S FIRST foray into the Kent S.F.A. Gills' Shield ended with defeat at the hands of a talented West Kent side.

The visitors showed a touch of class to fire three goals without reply against the Essex Finch League leaders.

Unbeaten in all prior competitive 11-a-side matches, Barking & Dagenham must now concentrate on the Essex and London competitions if they are to bring home silverware this year.
