THE 2008/9 SEASON FINALLY came to a conclusion for the Barking & Dagenham boys' District team with a 3-0 defeat to Lewisham at May & Baker's, in the final of the London SFA Crisp Shield.

Despite battling to the end, the power, pace and strength of the visitors always gave them an edge, as the home side fell two goals behind in the first half.

A flurry of half-chances gave Barking & Dagenham some hope late on, but Lewisham added a third in the second half to inflict a second successive cup Final loss in this competition.
