AFTER FINISHING AS Crisp Shield runners-up for the past two seasons, Barking & Dagenham sent a clear message to the rest of the competition with an emphatic win over South London.

Without keeper Jack Kemsley, the District side kept their second successive clean sheet, remaining in control throughout.

Barking & Dagenham got under way with a controversial first half goal. Referee Duggins overruled his assistant's flag as Sorba Thomas broke away to maintain his goal-a-game record.

Jayke Welch added a screamer before half-time, with Ricky Morris wrapping things up from close range.
