Benik Afobe
A SKILLFUL STRIKER, Benik Afobe (right) was part of the District Squad that came first in the Jersey tournament in 2004.
He attended Monteagle Primary School, before moving to Jo Richardson Community School, and is a rising star in the Arsenal Youth Academy.
Benik netted forty goals in just thirty-three appearances for the Gunners U16s, before becoming a regular in the U18s side and the reserves.
He scored twice on his international debut for England U16s in October 2008. He followed this with the winning goal against Wales in England's 1-0 victory later in the same month and another against Scotland to equal Michael Owen's Victory Shield goalscoring record.
Promotion to the England U17s side followed and, during the 2009/10 season, he was a regular member of the team that won the European Championships.
He began the 2010/11 season by being named in Noel Blake's England U19 squad despite still being eligible for the U17s. He has gone on to score four goals in four games and has also netted several times in an impressive loan spell at Huddersfield Town, earning a place in the starting line-up for the League One Play-off Final at Old Trafford.
