BDSFA Girls' League - 11/6/09

FIVE MORE GAMES were played in the BDSFA Girls' League which will have a profound effect on the eventual destination of this season's silverware.

Favourite's St Joseph's smashed ten goals past Monteagle without reply, inspired by District skipper Elicia Wells. They also picked up maximum points in a 3-0 victory over St Margaret's to move to the top of the table with one game left to play. A win over Rush Green next week will see them crowned champions for the first time.

However, understrength Godwin - who can also win the league if Rush Green cause an upset - looked in ominous form, also smashing Monteagle 10-0 with goals from Jodie Moore and Y5 pupils Hollie Ross (5), Briony Hagger (2) and Louise Dove (2).

Meanwhile, Dorothy Barley saw their own title hopes fizzle away against an impressive St Margaret's side who came from behind to record a 3-3 draw. Barley's subsequent 4-0 victory over Monteagle gave them some consolation but the best they can hope for now is the runners-up if they beat Godwin in the final day showdown.
