Godwin Girls Grab Runners-Up Spot

WITH BOTH SIDES needing victory to secure runners-up spot, there was all to play for in the final BDSFA Girls’ League fixture of the season.

Each team started cautiously in the seering heat and struggled to find their rhythm as both defences were on top.

Ellie Webster put Barley ahead but Hollie Ross equalised before half-time to level things up.

Godwin skipper Cara Harris then netted with a long range effort just seconds from full time to give her side a dramatic win in a hard-fought contest.
