Barking & Dagenham Post Cup
Hunters Hall 8-2 Parsloes
HUNTERS HALL STARTED their defence of the Barking & Dagenham Post Cup with a comprehensive victory over a spirited Parsloes side.
Hall started quickly and could have taken a first minute lead but the Parsloes keeper did well to deny Daniel Boyce. However, it didn't take long for them to open the scoring. Louis Phillips split the Parsloes defence with a neat through ball and Boyce applied the finishing touch.
Parsloes responded immediately and levelled things up from the spot. Phillips made a rash challenge on the edge of the box and referee Duggins had no choice but to point to the spot. The lively Parsloes front man picked himself up to coolly slot the ball home.
The goal seemed to sting Hall into action and they were quickly back in front. Sam Springall weaved his way through a crowded area to put Frankie Tilley in and his cross was superbly headed home by Boyce. The lead was then further extended, Tilley scoring after the impressive Springall and Phillips combined down the right.
Parsloes continued to battle away and looked to get their dangerous striker onto the ball whenever possible. They did, however, find the centre half pairing of Sameem Nasiri and Ka 'mar Lyon in impressive form. Backed up by full backs Lewis Price and Billy Meyers, the game was all Hunters Hall. They added a fourth when Price played in Boyce, who in turn set up Phillips, who fired the ball in from the edge of the area.
Just before half time Tilley fired home his second of the game to give his side a 5-1 lead at he break.
Parsloes came out fighting in the second half and only a smart save from Hall keeper, James McKnight, stopped them reducing the deficit. Hall continued to boss proceedings and it was no surprise when they added a sixth. Parsloes failed to clear a corner and Boyce completed his hat trick , finishing well with his left foot.
Six soon became seven, when Billy Savvas beat his marker and his neat pass was slammed past the Parsloes keeper by Boyce, for his fourth of the afternoon.
Parsloes refused to let heir heads drop and were soon rewarded for their efforts. They worked the ball to their live wire forward, he shrugged off three tackles and gave McKnight no chance with a cool finish.
Hall were soon back on the front foot and they could have added more goals but Phillips, Springall and Hakim Kamara were all denied by the brave Parsloes keeper
They did have the last word though,Boyce adding another goal, his fifth of the game, finishing with aplomb after a clever pass by Jordan McCaul.
This put the seal on an impressive all round team performance. Credit must go to Parsloes, who refused to lie down and can be proud of their efforts. Hunters Hall now await the winners of Thames View and William Bellamy after Becontree withdrew.
