Terry Venables

TERRY VENABLES WAS born in Bethnal Green, East London in 1943. He made his debut for Chelsea in 1960 and went on to play for Spurs, QPR and Crystal Palace.

He made two appearances for England against Belgium and Holland.

He has enjoyed a successful career as a manager and TV pundit. He spent eight years managing Crystal Palace and QPR, before taking over at Barcelona in 1984. In 1987, he took the hot seat at Spurs and has also managed Middlesborough and Leeds United.

He was in charge of the England team that reached the semi-finals of Euro ’96, before being knocked out on penalties by Germany.
