BRILLIANT BARKING & DAGENHAM surged into third place in the Essex Finch League with a 3-1 victory over Thurrock. In their fourth away league fixture in succession, Sorba Thomas' double and MJ Folkes' 6th of the season brought revenge for the 4-1 friendly defeat by the same opponents on the opening game of the season.

Thomas struck with just forty-one seconds on the clock with a brilliant instinctive finish before Folkes doubled the lead four minutes later.

A dubious penalty brought the home side back into the game but Barking & Dagenham remained in complete control, bossing the second half.

Thomas scored his 2nd with an exquisite lob to gain his fifteen goal of the season and his seventh in the last three games.

Barking & Dagenham move to within two points of second placed Thurrock, with a game in hand whilst leaders Havering went clear at the top thanks to a 2-0 win over Redbridge.
