Thurrock 4-1 Barking & Dagenham
BARKING & DAGENHAM HAD to battle with howling winds, a difficult surface and ruthless Thurrock finishing as they were taught a harsh lesson about the demands of District football.
The latest incarnation of the U11s settled and passed the ball around well but fell behind to two preventable goals midway through the first period.
That was tough on Barking & Dagenham, whose morale took another blow with a pair of unstoppable efforts that left Thurrock coasting with an unassailable lead.
Some comfort can be taken from the closing stages however, with the home side tamed for the final twenty minutes. Sorba Thomas poached his first District goal, stabbing in a close range shot from a corner towards the end.
